La Oca de los Huevos de Oro

AESOP'S FABLE
A man and his wife had the good fortune to possess a goose which laid a golden egg every day. Lucky though they were, they soon began to think they were not getting rich fast enough, and, imagining the bird must be made of gold inside, they decided to kill it. Then, they thought, they could obtain the whole store of precious metal at once; however, upon cutting the goose open, they found its innards to be like that of any other goose.

A good illustration of Ideal Customer Service is the story of the goose that laid the golden egg. If you kill the goose, what happens? Many sales and service people "kill the goose" daily and cannot seem to understand what happened to their golden eggs.

The moral of the story: Greed destroys the source of good so think before you act when dealing with customers. In America today we need to stop killing the goose with the poor customer service we have been delivering and strive to deliver Ideal Customer Service!

To continually deliver Ideal Customer Service I want you to adopt the Motto:

Always do more than is expected of you. Always do more than you are paid for. If you do, customers will remember you and come back!

WHAT GREAT COMPANIES KNOW
All great companies and organizations know - IF WE DON'T TAKE CARE OF OUR CUSTOMERS SOMEONE ELSE WILL! This requires that you understand the power of service. So many businesses today don't have a clue about what ideal customer service is from the customers' point of view. We must understand the power of service. The concept of service excellence works in every industry from hotels to funeral parlors. Service is the master-key to greatness!
Here is a quote that drives it home:

No one achieves greatness without first being of service. Service is the essence of greatness. All great men and women become great because they gave some talent or ability in service to others. And no matter how small our talent, We too can contribute in some way to others. We too can become great! - Anonymous
